Patrick Swayze is "doing fine" after being hospitalized last
week for pneumonia, according to his mother, Patsy.
"He sounds really upbeat and positive," his mom tells Us magazine. Patsy also notes, "He hasn't even been there a week! We don't talk about illness when I talk to him." Patrick has continued working vigorously on his A&E show "The Beast" while undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer that was diagnosed in early 2008.
The actor recently opened up about his year-long cancer battle in an interview with ABC News' Barbara Walters, saying the fight has not been easy. "There's a lot of stuff going on. Yeah I'm scared. Yeah I'm angry. Yeah I'm [asking] why me. Yeah, I'm all this stuff," he tells Walters. But despite those concerns swirling through his mind, Swayze says his first reaction after his diagnosis was: "Watch me! You watch what I pull off."
